Account Deletion
How to Delete Your CatchMate Account
You can permanently delete your CatchMate account and all associated data at any time from within the app.
Steps
- Open CatchMate and tap the Profile tab
- Tap Account
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Confirm by tapping Delete in the first prompt
- Confirm again by tapping Delete My Account in the final prompt
Your account and all data will be deleted immediately.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
- Profile information (name, bio, photo, date of birth, location)
- Matches and messages (all conversations and match history)
- Swipes (all like and pass history)
- Sessions (all proposed, confirmed, and cancelled sessions)
- Availability (weekly schedule and date overrides)
- Blocks and reports (any users you blocked or reported)
- Favorites (any saved matches)
- Push notification tokens (device registrations)
- Profile photos (all uploaded images)
- Your authentication account (login credentials)
If you signed in with Apple, your Apple ID credential for CatchMate is also revoked.
Data Retention
After deletion, no personal data is retained. Automated cleanup also removes:
- Left-swipe records older than 90 days
- Unmatched session proposals older than 30 days
Data Export
Before deleting your account, you can download a copy of your data:
- Go to Profile > Account
- Tap Download My Data
- A JSON file containing your profile, matches, messages, sessions, and other data will be shared to your device
